Job Description
This company is seeking a Social Work Assistant to join their team in Nottingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting social workers in providing support to Looked After Children (LAC).
The Social Work Assistant will work alongside social workers to help young people in care achieve their full potential. This will involve carrying out assessments, creating care plans, and providing practical and emotional support to LAC and their families.
The role requires a compassionate and caring individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The Social Work Assistant will need to be able to work well under pressure and have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by LAC.

Key Responsibilities
Assist social workers in providing support to Looked After Children
Carry out assessments and create care plans
Provide practical and emotional support to LAC and their families
Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies
Attend meetings and reviews as required

A relevant qualification in social care or a related field

About the role:
60 children attend the school aged between 5-19 years. The young people have a primary diagnosis of autism with a few students who are non-verbal. You will experience challenging behaviours derived from frustration and will support with day-to-day tasks, activities, meal preparation, music classes, arts & crafts.
About you:
A successful candidate will have experience working with children and young people with learning disabilities, mental health, or autism. Early years’ experience is also accepted as there is a early years section within the school.
Pay starting from £12.00 per hour PAYE and £15.02 per hour Umbrella
