As an apprentice within Voyage Care, a leading care provider specialising in supporting adults with physical and learning disabilities, you will work alongside experienced care professionals to deliver compassionate, person-centred support to individuals with complex care needs. Key Responsibilities:
Communicating with people we support with learning disabilities using appropriate communication methods, including tact, empathy and diplomacy to foster good relationships. This may include using specialist communication methods for which the company would provide training
Once suitably trained, assist with the people we support, including personal care, while being appropriately supervised
Assisting with bathing to maintain a high standard of hygiene. This may include people moving techniques, using hoists and repositioning service users as required
Participating in the development and implementation of people we support’s care plans to encourage people we support to take an active role in all aspects of daily living and ensure the appropriate level of individual care and support is provided
Participating in people we support daily outings, activities or recreational pursuits when required to assist people we support with aspects of their daily life
Undertaking and/or assisting people we support with household activities such as cooking, mealtimes, laundering and cleaning to promote a healthy environment for the service users and the promotion of independent living
Recording and completing any appropriate documentation to ensure that per records, observations or research results are accurate and informative
Handling cash daily, e.g. grocery shopping, general household errands and service users’ monies to facilitate the appropriate management of service users’ finances
Undertaking and completing the apprenticeship programme within an agreed timescale, including the induction criteria specified by the Education and Skills Funding Agency
Undertaking any other training relevant to the needs of the service and the people we support according to relevant legislation to professionally develop and gain skills beneficial to the service users
Ensuring all policies and procedures applicable in the service and the company are followed to comply with regulations and good practice
Attending, participating and contributing to team meetings when required to ensure that all issues relating to the management of the service are fully understood, and to promote communication within the team. Deliver an effective and customer focused help desk.: Acting as one of the first points of contact for the IT/digital support contact line, recording support requests in relevant systems and support of the end user with their query/issue (Escalating if necessary)
Respond to support calls from end users to ensure a customer focused approach detailing with support calls: By phone, by email or support ticket, or in person
Supporting end users remotely, as wells as physically on the college sites
Assist with maintaining, managing, and updating all college hardware ensuring it remains in a serviceable and compliant condition
Understand the general use, operationally and functionally of the Office and Office 365 suite to be able to support users to access and troubleshoot, including the following systems and packages: Exchange online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Office suite (to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote)
Report/diagnose/record and resolve all college hardware and software faults
Install software packages to run under college operating systems, in line with the college IT security policy
Support the network team with testing of new software, hardware and computer images prior to cross-college roll out
Install and test college purchased computer hardware (including Apple devices) and other peripheral devices
Assist and support the scope and implementation of specific projects as requested by the line manager
Maintaining the IT asset log of all equipment and undertake annual IT asset reviews and checks. Ensuring all assets entering the college are correctly recorded, amend records on any changes and support with recording of assets for disposal
Assist with the checking and maintaining device records in Windows Active Directory and Intune MDM and using the systems to deploy software and apps
Assist with the issuing of portable IT equipment to end users, following the college procedures

To provide administrative support to the ICF to ensure an efficient, effective and responsive service to both North Northampton, West Northampton and The Northamptonshire Children’s Trust. Provide administration support linked with day-to-day governance and relationship management of the Northamptonshire Children’s Trust, on the behalf of West Northants and North Northants.
