As part of your role, you will complete a structured Apprenticeship Programme designed to support your development. You will be expected to:
Attend all training sessions, inductions, and reviews, demonstrating punctuality and commitment
Complete coursework and assignments within agreed deadlines
Build and maintain a portfolio of evidence throughout the programme
Actively engage with your tutor, assessor, and line manager to maximise learning and development
Training:The broad purpose of the occupation is to handle goods safely in and out of the storage facility.
This will involve the unloading of goods from lorries, trains, ships or planes, the identification and checking of the product and then putting it away in a storage location.
Operatives will pick products from storage locations to satisfy customer orders. Some products may require repackaging prior to assembly for despatch. All orders will be checked and loaded on to the relevant form of transport allocated for delivery.
Warehouse Operatives will typically work in large buildings and often have a shift working pattern in order to provide a twenty four hour operation. A driving licence is not an absolute necessity but may be preferable for access to Distribution Centres, located on out of town Industrial Estates where public transport may not be available for shift start and finish times.
In their daily work, an employee in this occupation interacts with team Leaders and Warehouse Supervisors, Stock Control Administrators, Incoming Delivery Drivers, Outgoing Delivery Drivers, Customers making collections, Data Management Assistants, Sales and Marketing representatives, Planners and Project Managers, Buyers and Procurement Managers. A Warehouse Operative will be supervised by a Team Leader, Warehouse Supervisor or Shift Manager.
An employee in this occupation will be responsible for the safe handling of goods and the accuracy of putting stock away in the correct locations and the accuracy of picking products in accordance with the orders received. This may include the packing of goods and ensuring product is not damaged. In a small operation they may be responsible for the whole process of incoming goods, storage and outgoing orders.
They may be required to operate different forms of mechanical handling equipment such as fork lift trucks, cranes, pallet trucks and reach trucks. They should operate all equipment in a safe manner and be aware of any specific regulations which may apply to the products handled.
A full-time supply chain warehouse operative apprentice typically spends 12 months on-programme (this means in training before the gateway). The apprentice must spend at least 12 months on-programme and complete the required amount of off-the-job training in line with the apprenticeship funding rules.
You will complete an End Point Assessment.

Administrative
• Reconcile all Odessa & 506 freight bills through ITS portal• File freight claims with LTL and small package carriers in the event of lost or damaged material/shipments (when necessary)• Responsible for running freight quotes for orders, sales, customer service and/or customers • Assist in various functions concerning inventory control, master data maintenance, and other plant related SAP activities • Report monthly on Odessa service levels to plant manager
Inventory Control
• Responsible for scrap & sample reporting / inventory adjustments in SAP for Finished Product• Participate in daily cycle count program: Entry, Research, and Posting - Counting when necessary• Participate in monthly activities related to OSD management as delegated by supervisor• Ensure stock rotation occurring on floor.

Starting in the Felt Department or Roofing Department of the East 80th Cleveland Manufacturing Plant, the Operator will start up, troubleshoot, and operate manufacturing and production equipment safely and routinely, while achieving or exceeding standard levels of production, according to specifications. This position can turn into a regular, full-time, union position if the employee completes the probationary period. During the probationary period, this position will work on the 1st Shift. If the employee successfully completes the probationary period and becomes a regular employee, the position will most likely change to 2nd or 3rd shift, depending on the Plant's needs.
3-SHIFT FACILITY:
1st Shift: 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
2nd Shift: 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (Shift Differential of $0.75)
3rd Shift: 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. (Shift Differential of $1.00)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs work safely, according to safety rules and guidelines, and follows Tremco's Escalation Policy for any safety or quality concerns.
Communicates with Team Lead and/or Supervisor during shift changes and throughout shift.
Understands and operates the HMI at the various stations along the line to keep the line operating safely and efficiently.
Monitors weight, speed, and other metrics along the line.
Operates forklift to move raw materials, load carrier, and move finished product.
Makes raw material batches in the appropriate mixer(s), according to specifications.
Performs quality control tests on the batches, per established guidelines.
Ensures proper labels are being used on the taping machine.
Fills appropriate-sized pails, drums, or totes, labels filled items, and places pails/drums on pallet.
Performs daily housekeeping/cleaning of immediate area and other surrounding areas and departments, as needed.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
No prior education or experience required.
Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or similar industry experience preferred.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic knowledge of mathematics-i.e., addition, subtraction, fractions, etc.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions.

The successful candidate, who will be reporting to the department line supervisor/manager, will be dealing with import shipments and import customer services, for general accounts and larger key account customers.

Stores Person / Workshop Operative Based at: Preston Service Centre, PR5Salary: £25,903.79 paPermanent, 39 Hours per weekJob purpose:Primarily to work in Warehouse Stores, ordering parts, checking received goods vs original paperwork then booking in specialist stock, also making sure that correct and checked items are picked and sent out with the Field Service Engineers. Working as a team to make sure the department runs well and looks for continual improvement.Quality checking work prior to internally transferring equipment through to the main workshop. Full in-house training will be provided. In line with the Depot multi skilling practices, there will be, when operational requirements dictate, the need to work in other departments within the workshop or possibly become involved in the delivery and collection of the wheelchairs out in the field.Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Booking in – taking items delivered into stores department, checking them vs order paperwork, asseting them and adding them to the relevant stock system.Picking Orders - finding and checking lists of items that are to be used by engineers, and booking them out of stock.Improving Processes – working with others, including at Wheelchair Services, to try to improve the current processesStocktake – to assist with annual and interim stocktakes as required.Stock – Responsible for ensuring all parts stock used is accounted for.Depot – Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the workshop. Always ensure good housekeeping.Communication – Responsible for communicating any problems to their supervisor.Undertake - the job in line with the Company appraisal competencies as follows:

Secondary Duties (as required):
Decontamination – Responsible for ensuring decontamination is done in line with MHRA guidelines. Correctly quarantined, cleaned and passed through to reconditioning.Reconditioning – Responsible for ensuring that the wheelchairs are reconditioned to a good standard and ready for re-issue.

Person Required:Skills:

Knowledge:
Experience within a company would be desirably with evidence of working within set quality procedures.Good knowledge of Wheelchair services or the public sector would be a huge advantage.
Qualifications:
Qualified to GCSE level or equivalent.A full UK driving licence, (preferably clean) in order to assist with deliveries to cover for periods of absence
