Flexible within London/East of England with weekly visits to ChelmsfordWorking Style: Anywhere workerThe Principal Landscape Consultant will lead the delivery and development of landscape services, including specialist planning advice, landscape visual assessments, LVIAs, design reviews, guides and codes, preparing design briefs, and specialist tasks on multi-disciplinary projects.Responsible for effective commercial and operational delivery of landscape services: managing a demanding caseload of the most complex and controversial development management consultations at all stages of the planning /consent process; evaluating and carrying out landscape visual assessments and LVIAs and evaluating and developing landscape strategies and schemes, design guides and codes, and design reviews, for schemes of all sizes, challenge and complexity; and complex specialists tasks as part of multi-disciplinary projects.Collecting, analysing, and presenting complex data, evidence (including for enforcement) and advice to recognised standards, reviewing outcomes, and assessing third party compliance.Leading the development and review of complex, plans, policies and guidance.Responsible for commercial development of our landscape offer, bidding on high value opportunities, and managing high value projects and contracts against budget, specification and indicators.Strong evidence of continuing professional development and Chartered Membership of the Landscape Institute.Authoritative technical and subject matter expert, with comprehensive knowledge and experience of: development management and planning policy, legislation, and enforcement standards and guidance; development briefs; landscape strategies/schemes; visual assessment/LVIA; design guides/codes/reviews; and related office and site-based practices and procedures, including graphic presentationGood understanding of commercial practices, with accomplished negotiation and communication skills and a track record of business development, including bid winning and the ability to inform, influence, and persuade, building client relationships and managing high value accounts.Able to lead specialist and multi-disciplinary project teams and manage multiple, and large scale and complex, projects from concept through to completion.

Skills/Experience:
Advanced desktop publishing software skills in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint.
An expert in Microsoft packages, e.g. confidence in creating documents/graphics in Word and PowerPoint, as well as creating and styling charts in Excel. Knowledge of building templates within Word and PowerPoint an advantage.
Knowledge of visual accessibility standards in design an advantage.
Additional skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign an advantage.
Some experience of working in professional and financial services would be nice to have.
Used to working with complex data and can suggest alternative ideas for data presentation, including all chart types (scatter, line, histograms) and infographics.
Creative individual with an excellent eye for detail and a ‘can do’ mindset.

Upholding brand guidelines and having a strong knowledge of design standards.
Keeping abreast of industry developments to help the business make better use of data-visualisation techniques.
Working with consultants, analysts and in-house copywriters to make client advice papers and presentations succinct and engaging.
Building productive relationships with colleagues in marketing and other stakeholders across the business.
When required, liaising with external print and production providers.

Here’s what a typical day would be like:

Develop the assets needed to support the account’s growth strategy, working closely with external Design, Audio-visual and PR agencies.

Ensure campaigns are delivered on time and within budget.
Take responsibility for direct channel performance.
Who we’re looking for:
Degree or equivalent in Marketing or Business
Previous marketing and CRM experience in a Business-to-Business environment is essential.
Experience using a Project Management tool would be a distinct advantage
