Service Care Solutions has an opportunity for an experienced HGV Waste Driver to join our well-established client in Bermondsey, London on a temporary, ongoing contract. Main duties will require:
To ensure vehicles are road-worthy before, during and after each shift.
Clean the vehicle (inside and out) at least every two weeks or as directed.
Carry out safety checks as detailed in the drivers’ log books.
Carry out tasks as assigned, including loading of goods, waste and any other item that needs transporting.
Sort and recycle loads where appropriate.
Requirements:
Full, clean class 1 or class 2 heavy goods vehicle license for LGV drivers.
Minimum of 2 years experience of working in a cleaning, grounds maintenance, waste management or related work environment as a driver/ LGV driver.
Ability to complete safety checks and log books accurately.
Ability to work without close and frequent supervision.
Working hours will be:
Monday to Friday 6am-2pm

Load outgoing vehicles either in bulk or bales as required to driver/offtaker specification and accurately document.
Ensure all paper based and electronic records are accurate and current.
Receive all deliveries, check electronic/paper based records to ensure compliance and communicate effectively with drivers/contractors to operate safely on site.
Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
Work in accordance with health and safety, quality and environmental management systems and follow health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.
Requirements:
Full, valid driving license.
Loading shovel/plant ticket qualification.
Experience in the waste management industry or similar workplace.
Applying health & safety requirements to work tasks by following Safe Systems of Work and Risk assessments.
Knowledge of driver and vehicle practices.
Good organisational and interpersonal skills.
Basic IT skills including the ability to use basic functions in electronic systems/willing to work towards.
