Assembly Manger - summary
Assembly Manager to provide support to the department in the day to day activities of the department. With direct responsibility for a number of experienced fitter on site. Work needs to be completed in line with EHS and quality requirements, on time and to the agreed costs whilst driving for continuous improvement at all times.
Key responsibility of the Assembly manager
To ensure that the assembly are complies with all relevant statutory and Company standards, for example Company Health, Safety and Environment policy.
To lead and motivate multi-skilled groups of people on complex projects to ensure effective performance to required Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People targets.
To implement and facilitate the efficient set up of the assembly & test areas.
Provide input to the creation of assembly & test build sequence to deliver quality/efficiency improvements and minimised cycle/elapsed times.
To ensure the standards set for FOD, cleanliness and housekeeping in the assembly & test areas are achieved.
To monitor, report and initiate corrective actions if standards/targets are not achieved.
Create and deliver team briefings and toolbox talks.
Create and maintain skills matrices and training plans for team members.
Experience of the Assembly manager
Experience in rotating equipment and/or heavy machinery
Mechanical engineering background, ideally in engineered machinery/equipment or other rotating equipment
Leadership experience
Excellent people skills, ability to deal with a demanding customer whilst further developing the already existing strong relationship
Ability to deal with conflicting manufacturing requirements and devise schedules to resolve these
Be able to lead and motivate a multi-skilled team
Working hours of the Assembly manager:
