The Product Test Engineer, in Newhaven, will be responsible for analysing the product features, designing test parameters, and writing up final test procedures of mechanical or electrical systems to ensure that customers receive high-quality, functional products. A start-up Medical Devices company, based in Central London, is currently hiring for a Systems Engineer to join them and help accelerate the design, development, building, and testing of a novel Diagnostics technology, working to ISO 13485 Medical Devices standards.

Your focus will be accelerating the design, development, building and testing of the hardware of this new Diagnostics Medical Device, working alongside some excellent Medical Devices Physicists, Scientists, Electronics Engineers, and Design Engineers.
This Medical Devices organisation is looking for a Systems Engineer who has worked on hardware development of a Medical Devices, Biotech System or Life Sciences Technology that have included mechatronics elements.
Apart from hardware development experience for systems design, Python programming, and design for manufacturing, providing systems documentation and BoM will also be important.
Due to the size of this company, you will be exposure to other areas of the business, including third-party meetings and attending Medical Devices and Science conferences and trade shows. Due to this, it would be ideal if you have worked for a start-up or scale-up Medical Devices company previously or worked for a Medical Devices/Scientific Design Consultancy and know what it’s like to wear multiple hats when needed.
It would be highly advantageous if you have also worked on microfluidic systems in the past, products that have had an element of chemistry, biochemistry, and medical products.
It is expected that you would hold a degree and masters in a related Medical Devices, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or another relevant scientific subject.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Quality Technician conducts testing on incoming and outgoing materials to ensure conformance to all quality requirements both internal and external. In addition, this role maintains the lab in a safe and organized manner to comply with all corporate or governmental policies for safety, environmental, and quality and assists with plantwide ISO 9001 compliance in whatever capacity required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual batch testing activities per product and procedural requirements. Perform periodic calibrations of lab and plant equipment. Participate in the development of quality specifications for raw materials, finished products or substitute materials. Support ISO Quality systems by understanding quality expectations, work instructions, and completing proper quality documentation. Perform periodic quality audits of production processes and finished goods. Communicate with other departments about the status of quality material. Perform first-piece inspections on finished products.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma required
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum one year of related experience working in Extruded Rubber Products (ERP) or similar industry.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
ISO knowledge Knowledge of lab testing and extrusion/mixing raw materials preferred Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Re-testing boxes of material on QC hold. This process involves the lab tech lifting boxes and spools of EnerEDGE which can weigh between 25-50 lbs.
