About the Job
The Covid19 Inquiry is looking for a Scottish qualified Solicitor/Lawyer with a current practising certificate to work as an Assistant Solicitor in the Inquiry. The successful candidate will be responsible for working on a 6-12 month contract mat leave cover. This is a full-time position, 37 hours a week, and will start at the end of April or beginning of May with a handover period.
The Assistant Solicitor will be working on Portfolio 3, which will be within the Health and Social care law aspect of the department. The ideal candidate will have previous public inquiry work experience, and the ability to work in a hybrid environment.
About the Role
The Assistant Solicitor will be responsible for:
Working on the COVID19 Inquiry as part of Portfolio 3
Providing legal advice and assistance to the Inquiry
Assisting with the preparation of witness statements and other legal documents
Attending hearings and meetings as required
Collaborating with other members of the team to ensure the smooth running of the Inquiry
Requirements
Scottish qualified Solicitor/Lawyer with a current practising certificate
Previous public inquiry work experience desirable
Ability to work in a hybrid environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage workload effectively
