You will be required to attend team meetings and assist the Team Manager in ensuring good practice is promoted and enhanced within the team.
About the role
You will need a degree in Social Work and post-qualifying experience within a Children’s Services team to be considered for this role. Past experience in Child Protection, Children in Need, Referral and Assessment, Looked After Children or Leaving Care would be desirable. Is it essential that you have an understanding of all relevant legislation, guidance, policy and procedures, good practice guidelines and national standards.

Childrens Social Worker
Service care Solution are currently recruiting for a Childrens Social Worker for the Safeguarding Team in Northamptonshire.
We are looking for a Childrens Social Worker to hold case’s that have been transferred from Duty and Assessment Team at the first Initial Child Protection Conference or at the first Child in Need meeting. They will hold these cases until closure. If case escalate to the court arena or long term looked after the case will transfer to the Children in Care Teams.
The successful candidate will work from their preferred location of either Northampton, Wellingborough, Daventry, Corby or Kettering, with the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis.
Main Responsibilities
As a Childrens Social Worker, you will be responsible for:
Carry out Initial, Core and other specialised assessments as per national guidelines and within prescribed timescales in order to formulate support plans for service users and coordinate their implementation or refer the case to the appropriate service area for support to child/family.
Manage cases varying in complexity, organise packages of support to service users, assess levels of risk to their health and wellbeing and, in conjunction with them and their families /carers, monitor and review their situations so that support can be adjusted as appropriate to their needs.
Work directly with family members providing advice and guidance. Work to empower service users, promote their participation in planning and evaluation of services to increase their levels of self-sufficiency, competence and to facilitate independence from social service assistance.
Requirements:
Degree in Social Work and registered with Social Work England

Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle

We are looking for a Childrens Social Worker to be a single point of contact for all incoming safeguarding concerns relating to young people within the catchment area. This sector consists of 6 teams of approximately 8-10 staff each.
The team operates on a 6-week duty cycle, with candidates needing to be in office for a FULL week during their duty week, and to be local during visit time. Aside from the on-site duty activity required during their allocated week, candidates can work remotely for the other 4 weeks.
