JOB DESCRIPTION
The Process Engineer provides engineering support to the assigned program and/or area to ensure product is processed in accordance with customer and division quality requirements while maintaining production flow. Charged with developing and maintaining systems to assure that all products manufactured by the plant meet customer specifications and achieve superior and reliability levels. The resident-expert regarding process technology. Responsible for investigating and implementing new process technology at the plant. The Process Engineer is responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and optimizing the plant. This position is responsible for influencing the development of preventative maintenance programs at the facility and will have a significant role in capital improvement plans, while assisting in work area design, plant layout, visual control and metric implementation, material flow, process tracking, and communication.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product Participate in plant metric reporting Coordinate quality control objectives and activities as detailed in the facility site plan to resolve any production problems that may occur, maximize product consistency, and minimize cost Prepare estimate of production costs and production progress reports for management Design measurement and control systems for chemical plants based on data collected in laboratory experiments and in pilot plant operations Use SAP to monitor production/business functions Provides engineering expertise for all operations in the plant Must be the local expert, regarding all manfacturing equipment and processes at the plant Recommend modifications to current processes and equipment; document and follow up with process engineers responsible for the modifications Works with the plant engineers and maintenance to influence direction of preventative maintenance best practices Support a high-performance results-oriented culture and maintain high standards of safety and compliance Provide technical and operational leadership for equipment and facility maintenance and improvements Deliver disciplined project management and product development assistance Regular review of batch first pass yield, felt production quality, distressed, obsolete, scrap and returned material Troubleshoot batch and raw material issues Assist in the identification of capital requirements for the facilities' annual capital plans and budgets Help investigate equipment failures, difficulties, and deficiencies Interface with leadership, operators, and maintenance to ensure continuous improvement and continuous production Develop and streamline their critical metrics and assist when necessary Assist in the development of site metrics and KPI's Perform job in accordance with all Tremco safety policies and procedures Perform other duties, as assigned
The salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $65,000 and $80,000. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law. You will be working on several complex projects, from inception through to handover. You will be ensuring the delivery of specified products and services within agreed time, quality, and cost parameters.â¯As Project Manager you willâ¯oversee the physical systems and implementations themselves and also the resulting process and business change, ensuringâ¯change is embedded.
This role is hands-on with the implementation and installation of Projects and experience working on commercial based contracts/projects will be advantageous.
So, what would your day to day look like?
- Develop and implement the detailed installation project plan for standard projects and aid with more complex projects and/or key accounts.
- Assist with the installation delivery for standard EV, ANPR and digital payment solutions, including coordinating all internal and external parties to ensure project is installed safely, on budget and on schedule.
- Monitor the performance, health and safety and quality of the selected contractors and report to project management team as required.
- Supporting the design team where needed and able to provide a site level intellect of construction design preferably electrical.
- Manage and monitor all operational risks at site level escalating where necessary.
- Projects will include Parking equipment installs, ANPR, Contract Mobilisation, Data migration and the Integration of digital payment options.
How do you know if youre right?
To succeed youll need a track record of delivering Electrical Installation Projects and a proven record of managing teams well.
- You will have several years Project Management experience in a similar role and the ability to multi-task and deliver/control multiple projects in tandem.
- Specific EV Charging knowledge is essential with a passion for Electric Vehicles and associated Infrastructure projects.
- Degree or equivalent qualified in Electrical Engineering or technical discipline would be advantageous with strong Microsoft IT skills or Qualified to NVQ/C&G level 3 in electrical installation or equivalent.

- Sound understanding of CDM duties across project delivery

JOB PURPOSE:
The Corporate Project Engineer is accountable for providing capital engineering support within Operations. This includes executing engineering projects for capital installations $200M+, project management from design through startup, and providing long range technical planning and strategies for the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for capital project execution including equipment selection, justification, CAR processing, purchasing, and installation. Support start-up efforts including in person training and documentation. Design, recommend, and implement manufacturing systems that are designed for machine, human interaction, method/process, raw material & environmental variability. Design to incorporate Lean principles to improve reliability, ease of use & maintenance, minimize changeover times, and to minimize production losses. Provide cross functional project management across key areas including RD&E, Finance, Marketing, & with other Rust-Oleum locations Manage projects through design review process from project scope charters through successful startup transition to the local site team. This includes working with the plant operational teams on providing training, writing appropriate standard operating procedures, and maintenance training plans & parts. Apply the Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations to day to day operations and capital project work. This includes writing appropriate procedures, conducting Change Management paperwork, knowing and applying electrical and hazard codes, signing off on Hot Work and Confined Space, correctly using contractor safety guidelines, and timely equipment inspections/certifications. Frequent interface with plant personnel, operators, coordinators, and maintenance personnel across a 3-shift operation.
REQUIREMENTS:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering preferred. Industrial and Electrical Engineers with hands-on mechanical & chemical experience will also be considered. 7+ years of engineering job experience. Good project management, written and verbal communication skills are required along with a high level of initiative. Demonstrated strong leadership skills, in project and people management in a continuous improvement environment in the areas of production, safety, quality and Lean manufacturing principles.
