This position is located within the Community Domestic Violence and Abuse Support Service
The BCWA Community Domestic Violence and Abuse Support Service supports victims of domestic violence and abuse in Sandwell, Dudley, Wolverhampton and Walsall through a range of contracted/commissioning arrangements. The service works in partnership with other services within BCWA and key agencies to assess risk and provide tailored support plans for service users. Our integrated approach provides effective holistic support for survivors of abuse using a trauma-informed approach.
The team: Walsall Council Children’s Social Care has implemented the nationally recognised Family Safeguarding approach to working with whole families to support child protection arrangements. Family Safeguarding Teams are multi-disciplinary and include professionals from children’s social care, probation services, mental health and domestic abuse The Family Safeguarding approach presents a unique opportunity for multi-disciplinary teams to support whole families with all aspects of delivery reflecting a family-focused approach that prioritises safeguarding for children, young people and adults.
Black Country Women’s Aid service will second Domestic Abuse Victim support to parents/carers of Young People who are open to a Family Safeguarding support intervention. The role will be based within the Family Safeguarding teams and work as part of the multi-disciplinary service to improve outcomes for families.

A client within the Public Sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for a Highways Engineer to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to support the leadership of building control function, through provision of specialist technical advice to support the delivery of organisational priorities, and to ensure the Council is able to meet its legal obligations.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Managing and maintaining highways (defect repairs), (gully cleansing and drainage improvement programmes), (winter maintenance including gritting) highway structures (bridges, culverts and retaining walls).
Responsibility for contracts relating to the above workstreams.
Managing contracts relating to the above workstreams.
Reporting on technical engineering, performance, quality and commercial checks and assessments.
Keeping asset management information up to date.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require must have highway engineering or highway design experience.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
Hold an undergraduate degree or MSc in a relevant transportation or engineering discipline
Or hold a HNC / HND in Engineering or relevant equivalent
Or be a Chartered or Incorporated Engineering with a relevant institution membership
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £40 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
