THE COMPANY
My client is a firm of construction consultants providing both Building Surveying and Quantity Surveying services.
They have a good variety of Blue Chip clients and investors.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be a Building Surveyor at either Project Surveyor or Senior Project Surveyor level.
You should be chartered with the RICS and have experience gained with a UK firm of chartered building surveyors or other multi discipline consultants.
You will have strong technical knowledge to do building inspections, investment surveys, planned preventative maintenance, vendor surveys, party wall matters, dilapidations etc.
You must have a good understanding of the building process to be able to meet with clients and deal with their required project at all stages.
You should have a stable work record and have around two years or more PQE.
You must have excellent written and spoken English and be confident in dealing with people at all levels.

THE ROLE
An exciting role for a BUILDING SURVEYOR at Project Surveyor or Senior Project Surveyor level to join am esablished firm of construction consultants in London.
Clients are varied and current workload is with a large university, a private school and other clients.
My client's office is in central London.
Duties will include all aspects of project work for refurbishment, alteration and some new build and you will be responsible for doing the initial survey, drawings, writing specs and reports, putting out to tender and supervising the projects on site.
Projects are generally valued from around £50K to £5m and you will run a number of projects concurrently.
THE COMPANY
My client is a firm of construction consultants providing both Building Surveying and Quantity Surveying services.
They have a good variety of Blue Chip clients and investors.
THE CANDIDATE
You will be a Building Surveyor at either Project Surveyor or Senior Project Surveyor level.
You may be MRICS, MAPM or MCIOB qualified or approaching taking APC and you should have around 3 - 5 years building surveying exprience.
You will have good all round experience of building surveying but in particular for this role you will need to have good project experience to run projects on behalf of clients doing refurbishment, alterations, new build etc.
You will be able to do the initial survey, write specs and reports, put the work out to tender so deal with the contractors, supervise the contractors on site.
It is not necessary for you to have design or drawing experience and others in the firm can do that but if you do your own drawings it would be useful.
You must have a good understanding of the building process to be able to meet with clients and deal with their required project at all stages.
You should have a stable work record and have around two years or more PQE or 3 - 5 years building surveying experience if you are not yet chartered.
You must have excellent written and spoken English and be confident in dealing with people at all levels.
A stable work record with another firm of consultants or end user client is essential.
Salary will be a basic of £60000 to £65000 slightly negotiable plus discretionary bonus, pension, fees etc.

Review, manage and implement construction contracts from clients and sub-contractors, ensuring that they are delivered in accordance with the contracted terms and conditions and that all issues are mitigated and managed to protect Inco Contracts commercial interests
Develop a working knowledge of various forms of construction contracts
To manage post-contract commercial processes and procedures to deliver key commercial requirements on projects
To negotiate and resolve contract claims and disputes, and support senior managers in the resolution of escalated issues
To maintain contract data with a high degree of accuracy to support robust management information and reporting
Undertake order placement with back-to-back contracts with sub-contractors
Undertake project profit and loss reports ensuring they are kept up to date monthly for reporting
Undertake monthly valuations for submission to the client and prepare final account settlement for submission to the client
Undertake review of monthly sub-contractor valuations and production of payment notices and payment certificates. Agree final accounts with supply chain and issue final certificates
Produce project related cash flow forecasts
Prepare monthly project Cost Value Reconciliation
Collation of relevant project related collateral warranties from sub-contractors
Training:
Construction Quantity Surveying Technician Level 4
Training will take place at our offices in Hatton, Warrington
Working 5 days per week
Training Outcome:Depending on candidate experience, the apprentice would be required to attend college to undertake HNC/HND, moving onto University to undertake QS degree and must achieve a minimum Upper Second Class Honors 2:1. The apprentice must stay for minimum 2 years post successful completion of their apprenticeship or would be required to pay the tuition fee’s back to Inco.
You will be expected to support either Senior Estimator or Senior Quantity Surveyor throughout the durations of your apprenticeship.
