The Senior SEND Officer - Grade 8* will be responsible for supporting and coordinating on casework, attending Annual Reviews (if applicable) and school meetings for children and young people where there are concerns and potential school breakdown. The Ideal Candidate will have experience of working with young people with a variety of SEMH needs and have excellent behaviour management skills. The school is a large setting that caters for children aged 11-16 with class sizes of no more than 8 pupils.
We are currently keen to speak to people with a DT specialism and experience with teaching level 1 construction.
You will work with the young people to build excellent relationships in order to support progression and development towards their targets and goals.
Role & Responsibilities:
Planning and delivering tailored programmes, learning objectives and assessment plans
Delivering and adapting content, style, format of the curriculum to ensure the most effective results are achieved
Building strong relationships with pupils
Candidate Requirements:
Be a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS), hold a degree level qualification in a relevant subject, or have experience working in a similar environment
Have experience of working with disengaged students with SEMH
Have a minimum of twelve months teaching experience within the UK
Be committed to planning, delivering, and reporting on high-quality, impactful lessons that engage the students
Be required to complete our mandatory safeguarding training
Confident lesson planning
A strong grasp of the UK curriculum
The ability to work 1:1 or in small groups
Great communication and behaviour management skills
