The Field Support Specialist works closely with the Commercial Roofing Sales Representative to support and increase the sales activity in the Sales Representative's region. Maintains accounts through prospecting, closing, and providing solid market presence including serving customers.
Developing Business
Preparing and/or distributing marketing materials Inspection and evaluation of the property Preparing roof drawings and sketches Preparing scope of work documents Preparing proposals Attending sales calls Pricing patch and repair jobs Providing technical expertise Attending meetings with the architect, contractor and/or owner
Managing Accounts
Identifying, analyzing, resolving problems Preparing reports to owners regarding the condition of roofs. Project site visits to monitor installation of Tremco roofing products Identification of any aspect of installation that does not comply with specifications Review and resolve concerns of architects, contractors and owners regarding Tremco's installation instructions Coordinating visits with contractors Preparing reports on progress and problems for the Sales Representative. QA/ QA+ inspections Tremcare Gold Service (periodic visual inspection with minor repairs being addressed where detected on Tremco warranted roofs only). Thorough understanding and application of roofing and waterproofing contracting standards. Experience with MS Word, Excel and familiarity with CADD Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to build relationships and deliver exceptional customer service. Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business and technical information, e.g. professional journals and periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to draft reports, business correspondence and similar documents. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, contractors, and architects. Ability to communicate business and technical information (e.g. information relating to status of projects, remediation plans, and customer concerns) to Sales Representative. GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Technical Communications Specialist provides administrative assistance to the Technical Services Department and technical support of the Sealants Division product line to Tremco sales representatives and customers. This position requires a fundamental understanding of the product complaint process, the ability to enter product complaints and carrying out other associated duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General understanding of product complaint process/WebCycle/SAP and ability to close out tasks in a timely manner. Work successfully with all internal and external customers (Manufacturing, Lab, Sales, Tech Services as well as Dryvit Distributors). Assist in providing technical support for Dryvit product line, making technically accurate recommendations to internal and external product line/application inquiries from Sales Department, architects, engineers, contractors, specifiers, etc. Answer Dryvit Mailbox /HubSpot inquiries. Acquire a general understanding and ability to communicate results of Project Testing methods/techniques - ASTM C794 (Tab Adhesion-and-Peel), ASTM C1193 (Tab Adhesion), ASTM C1248 (Stain) and ASTM C1087 (Compatibility). Assist with making technically accurate recommendations to internal and external product line/application inquiries from Sales Department, architects, engineers, contractors, specifiers, etc. Develop the various cross-functional skill sets of individuals on your team within the Technical Services Department. Maintain and update Dryvit departmental manual. Speak/write proficiently with respect to product usage, competitive product analysis, the Tremco website, product specification, product repairs and problems. Assist when needed with on- and off-site training events (Quality Applicator Program QAP, Sales Training, etc.) and arranging product deliveries. Assist with the development & updating of Technical Bulletins, Application Instructions, Tech Data, Marketing collateral or white papers.
EDUCATION

EXPERIENCE

An Assistant Branch Manager / Branch Supervisor with a hands-on mentality is required for the flagship branch of a family-run distributor supplying automotive, industrial, marine and leisure markets across the Southwest.
The Assistant Branch Manager / Branch Supervisor will support the Branch Manager in the day-to-day management of an established and experienced team of around 15, covering sales and distribution.
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with an electrical wholesale, electrical distribution, automotive parts distribution, industrial distribution, engineering supplies or builder’s merchants background, although this is by no means essential.

The Candidate
Previous supervisor / team leader experience is required, ideally in a distribution or wholesale environment. We are also open to candidates ready to make that step into an Assistant Branch Manager role.
Hands on sales experience and the ability to develop business relationships.
An understanding of branch operations.
A technical aptitude with the ability and willingness to learn, retain and relay product information.
Our ideal candidate may have experience of working within an electrical, industrial or Engineering wholesale environment or have an automotive parts distribution / motor factor background.
The Role
Demonstrate a hands-on approach providing support and assistance across all areas of the branch.
Support the Branch Manager (and deputise in their absence) across the following areas:
Provide training, coaching development and motivation to the team.
Be aware of and assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities.
Direct all operational aspects including distribution operations.
Liaise with buying and distribution teams at head office to ensure correct inventory levels are maintained.
Manage branch health and safety requirements in line with HSE legislation and company health and safety policies.
Work with the management team to achieve branch targets.
Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions to leverage growth opportunities.
