About the role:
You will be supporting a Gentleman on a 2:1 basis, the service user is Deaf and requires personal care and assistance with living activities, household tasks and meal preperation. You must be able to build strong, supportive relationships with the gentleman.
About you:
A successful candidate will have experience using British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate effectively with individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing. You will have compassion and empathy for individuals with disabilities and have a passion to support the venerable.
Pay starting from £14.00 per hour PAYE and £17.64 per hour Umbrella

The Role
The Social Work Assistant will undertake direct work with children/young people and their families/carers as appropriate and agreed by the team manager. The Social Work Assistant will support the social worker to maintain accurate and relevant case records, maintain accurate and up-to-date written records, take up opportunities for relevant training and development, and participate in team activities, including team meetings, case discussions, and review of team work. They will participate in regular supervision (individual and group supervision) and ensure confidentiality of information in line with County Council policy and relevant legislation, in respect of records maintained and tasks undertaken. This includes maintaining strict confidentiality in relation to personal information (including that of service users and other employees) which may become known in the course of work or associated activities.
To maintain effective working relationships and contribute to a working environment which is safe, considerate and supportive to all. · To exercise responsible control over the children to ensure their safety and well being and assist them in developing acceptable standards of personal hygiene and behaviour. This also applies to encouraging children to abide by house rules and principles.
· To be familiar with and follow the Local Authority Child Protection Procedures and Compass Children’s Homes team ‘Safer Caring and Child Protection Procedures ‘. All information coming to the knowledge of staff must in the first instance be reported immediately to the Registered Manager or Senior Residential Worker.
· To care for Children when they are ill and where necessary administer Medicines, drugs and treatments under the guidance of the child’s medical practitioner.
