A start-up Medical Devices company, based in Central London, is currently hiring for a Systems Engineer to join them and help accelerate the design, development, building, and testing of a novel Diagnostics technology, working to ISO 13485 Medical Devices standards.

This Medical Devices organisation is looking for a Systems Engineer who has worked on hardware development of a Medical Devices, Biotech System or Life Sciences Technology that have included mechatronics elements.
Apart from hardware development experience for systems design, Python programming, and design for manufacturing, providing systems documentation and BoM will also be important.
Due to the size of this company, you will be exposure to other areas of the business, including third-party meetings and attending Medical Devices and Science conferences and trade shows. Due to this, it would be ideal if you have worked for a start-up or scale-up Medical Devices company previously or worked for a Medical Devices/Scientific Design Consultancy and know what it’s like to wear multiple hats when needed.
It would be highly advantageous if you have also worked on microfluidic systems in the past, products that have had an element of chemistry, biochemistry, and medical products.
It is expected that you would hold a degree and masters in a related Medical Devices, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or another relevant scientific subject.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial engineering 0 - 2 years' experience in manufacturing environment. Six Sigma/lean manufacturing experience. Understanding of process control methods, flowmeters, level monitors, and other process controls within a batch manufacturing process. Ability to read and interpret process drawings (process flow diagrams and P&ID's). PLC with ladder logic analysis. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. PC usage with MS Office Suite (AutoCAD experience a plus), strong interpersonal skills, good communication skills both written and verbal.

Work from ladders, scaffolds, catwalks, or high lifts Develops a full understanding of chemical hazards specific to area assigned to, including knowledge of required PPE for each job. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layouts, drawings, and/or specifications. Work in plant, and shop environment. Develops a full understanding of material identification code system, including hazard identification numbering for repair jobs that require clearing of equipment in such service. Must develop a basic understanding of the function of plant auxiliary equipment, including the fire protection system, boiler, heaters, air compressor, waste handling and emission control devices. This includes specific tests or preventive maintenance procedures required for all equipment. Develops a basic understanding of bulk tank systems. This includes a numbering system and location tank tables, level measuring systems and transfer pumps for the purpose of repairing such systems. Must develop a full understanding of the plant waste handling systems. This includes sumps operation, holding tanks, separation, and transfer equipment for the purpose of repairing such systems. Work with internal customers to provide support for small projects; troubleshoot problems using operational procedures and products to eliminate downtime. Help to maintain records on equipment to build history to track equipment service and replacement requirements. Assist in training less skilled mechanics. Adhere to all company quality, safety, security, health and environmental requirements and policies. Work with and/or supervise projects using outside contractor. Perform all work according to Tremco quality and safety procedures.
Position Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent 2 or more years of experience in Manufacturing mechanical field Experienced in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting plant issues. Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals. Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. Basic safety training such as Right to Know, Hazmat, Hazwoper Ability to work on site in: Corsicana, TX Ability to work 10 or 12-hour shift rotation week.
Physical Demands:
Able to lift and carry 50 pounds. Ability to bend, squat down, and reach above your head, throughout the day. Ability to climb stairs and ladders. Ability to wear a respirator and work in confined spaces. Ability to work from heights and wear fall protection.
Preferred Qualifications:
3 or more years of experience in a chemical plant environment Formal Craft training or NCCER preferred. TCEQ licensed for wastewater treatment and water well operation. GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Maintenance Supervisor has the direct responsibility for leadership of the maintenance department as well as maintaining and upgrading the site facilities and production equipment. In addition, this position is responsible for the management of the Preventative/Predictive Maintenance Program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and direct maintenance projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and direct the integration and implementation of technical activities. Support the HS&E, Quality and Service, and Productivity/Cost sections of the facility plan as defined by scorecard activities. Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment. Manage the Preventative/Predictive Maintenance Program to ensure it reduces downtime and improves overall reliability of production and production supporting machinery. Develop KPI's to track Maintenance performance. Support capital project requirements for review and submission to management including costs, schedule, and procedures. Direct, review, and approve product design and changes consistent with Management of Change (MOC) procedures. Analyze annual utility expenditures and develop plan to optimize efficiency and reduce costs. Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services. Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and work with the maintenance crew to implement the needed preventative measures. Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity in hiring and promotion decisions. Effectively and efficiently onboard new employees. Conduct annual performance evaluations and provide ongoing performance feedback, maintaining clear and timely documentation. Coach and manage employees using CS&W philosophy and tools to ensure talent is developed and retained. Apply Tremco policies and adheres to processes to ensure compliance and organizational best practices. Run Tier 1 and attend Tier 2 meetings with relevant Maintenance updates and actions.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Various trade certifications i.e. electrical, pipefitter, etc. preferred. EXPERIENCE: Four to seven years related experience and/or training A minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with plant safety practices, chemical processes, equipment maintenance, statistical applications, and equipment operations are also required. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment repairs. PLC experience is a plus.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Indicate if required or preferred. Knowledge of the practical application of sound engineering and chemical plant practices. This includes applying engineering principles and techniques to process design for the production of products and intermediates. Knowledge of arithmetic, statistical methods, "Lean" concepts, ISO procedures, and their applications.
