The Role:
Producing detailed CAD drawings for control panels and BMS projects
Designing control panel layouts and electrical/control schematics
Working closely with Project Engineers and Project Managers
Developing designs based on customer requirements and project specifications
Making design amendments and revisions where required
Preparing drawings for manufacture
Ensuring designs meet project requirements and technical standards
Liaising with engineers throughout the project lifecycle
Supporting multiple projects at different stages
The Person:
Previous CAD Design, CAD Engineer or CAD Technician experience
Experience within engineering, electrical, mechanical, BMS or controls environments
Confident using CAD software
Able to understand technical drawings and engineering specifications
Electrical or Building Services knowledge advantageous but not essential

Role and Responsibilities You will produce detailed engineering and fabrication drawings, working closely with Engineers, Project Managers, Fabrication and Site teams to ensure designs are accurate, practical and suitable for manufacture and installation.Key Responsibilities:
Produce detailed fabrication and installation drawings, including isometrics and spool drawings.
Develop and maintain accurate 2D and 3D models.
Interpret P&IDs, engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Produce weld maps, weld details and material lists.
Identify and resolve design issues prior to manufacture.
Amend drawings following engineering changes and site requirements.
Assist with site surveys where required.
Essential Criteria of the Piping Designer
Previous experience as a Pipework Detailer / Designer, Mechanical Designer or similar.
Strong experience producing isometric and fabrication drawings.
Experience using AutoCAD and ideally 3D design software such as CADWorx, Inventor or similar.
Ability to interpret P&IDs and engineering drawings.
Good understanding of fabrication and installation.
Experience within process engineering, chemical, water, gas or manufacturing.
Excellent attention to detail.

Produce detailed cladding construction and installation drawings.
Prepare elevations, plans, fire barrier details and site investigation drawings.
Produce accurate panel and sub-grid setting-out drawings.
Prepare material take-offs and coordinate quantities and technical information with the commercial team.
Carry out site surveys and inspections, including accurate photographic and site records.
Attend design and progress meetings with clients, architects, engineers, Building Control and other project stakeholders.
Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain technical specifications, product confirmations, U-values and condensation risk calculations.

Requirements:
Degree-level qualification in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Construction, Architecture or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
Minimum 5 years’ UK experience in cladding design.
Demonstrable professional experience in cladding design. Candidates with curtain walling-only experience will not be considered.
Proficient in AutoCAD 2D, PDF editing/markup software, Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Sound technical knowledge of cladding systems, panels, insulation, fixings, fire barriers and membranes.
Good understanding of fire barrier design and associated fixing systems.
Experience producing and interpreting fabrication drawings.
Working knowledge of U-values and condensation risk analysis for external wall build-ups.
Able to produce accurate sub-grid and panel setting-out drawings.
Able to develop drawings and design information from site photographs, surveys and mapping tools such as Google Maps/Earth.
Able to work independently and interpret verbal instructions, written information, sketches and site information with minimal supervision.
Comfortable working under pressure, prioritising workloads and managing at least two projects concurrently.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
