Fugro are seeking a Geophysical Engineer to join the Marine Site Characterisation Geophysics department based at our waterfront office at Portchester, Hampshire. The department specialises in offshore geophysical seabed and sub-seabed surveying for the renewables, unexploded ordnance (UXO), nearshore and utilities sectors across north-west Europe. ROV & USV Pilot Technician

Our Uncrewed Service Vessel (USV) operators and pilots will work predominantly from our new remote operations centre and our ROV & USV Pilot Technicians will predominantly work on site supporting the technical uptime of the Vessel, ROV and survey equipment.
The Role
We are seeking technicians who will be responsible for the technical uptime of our electric Remotely Operated Vehicles (eROVs) and USV’s within the European and African region.
You will support project mobilisations, equipment installation, equipment calibrations, equipment maintenance and technical fault finding. Therefore, you will get the opportunity to work hands on with the remote equipment underpinning the transition from conventional survey to remote and uncrewed survey.
Travel to project sites will be required for maintaining eROV systems, launch and recovery equipment, vessel mounted survey sensors and servicing of the vessel itself ensuring that components are operational to conduct investigation and inspections in accordance with the project deliverables.

The role
Fugro’s Systems Department based at our office in Wallingford are seeking an Electronics/Instrument Engineer to join the team. The team specialise in monitoring, measuring, and providing advice on renewables and oil and gas infrastructure projects in Europe and Africa.
As an Electronics/Instrument Engineer, you will need to have a fundamental understanding of computer architecture operating systems and networking principles. A knowledge of electronic and electrical principles is also essential as well as a good knowledge of oceanography. The successful candidate, after training, will be expected to take a lead on site visits, with responsibility for planning operations as well as health and safety where you will also act as a liaison.
Using the latest oceanographic equipment, on industry leading projects, you will get to work in a hands-on environment, where the ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing project needs are integral. Although you will be required to have an equipment and operations focus, project management opportunities will be available if this were an area you would like to pursue.
Knowledge of documentation structures and approval engineering process would be beneficial.
The role will require frequent ad hoc travel and working offshore, typically lasting between 5 -10 days a month.
Who we’re looking for:
