We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor / Vehicle Accident Damage Estimator to join an established Accident Repair Centre in the Oldham area.
This is NOT a trainee role, to be considered for this role you must be currently working in an accident repair centre in an identical role or have done so in the last 3 years.
You must have working experience of Audatex (or similar estimating software) and ideally hold an ATA VDA.
Key role and responsibilities as an Estimator / Vehicle Damage Assessor:
- You will undertake the inspection of accident damaged vehicles, assessing the full extent of the damage, costs of repair and time frames.
- You will ensure our work providers menu pricing schedules and repair methodologies and key information for each contract is being adhered too on each job.
- You will work within our guidelines to ensure that the workflow volume meets targets.
- Use computerised estimating systems.
- Liaise regularly with insurance and accident management companies with any updates or queries relating to relevant jobs.
- Contact customers to provide updates
Minimum requirements as an Estimator / Vehicle Damage Assessor:
Must have experience using estimating software (ideally Audatex)
ATA is advantageous but not essential

Primary Purpose of Job: Joining the team as a Dimensional Calibration Engineer, you will undertake calibration of measuring equipment to both ISO9001 and ISO 17025 requirements in accordance with Company Procedures, UKAS publications, and other internationally recognised specifications. Maintain relevant records of work, data and results in a traceable and auditable manner utilising calibration management software programs.
The successful Dimensional Calibration Engineer / Mechanical Calibration Tech day to day duties include:
Calibrate dimensional, force, mechanical and torque measuring instrumentation to company procedures, specific parameters and in line with industry standards
Documenting and inputting data / results onto computer and producing quality written documents.
To follow company H&S guidelines.
To be suitable for this Dimensional Calibration Technician role you must have the following experience / characteristics:
Ideally will have completed a relevant mechanical or quality engineering apprenticeship.
Must have previous experience of using and calibrating SOME of the following equipment: vernier callipers, micrometers, DTI’s (dial test indicators), various gauges (pin, plug, ring, screw and height), engineer squares, pressure / force gauges or torque equipment to in-house standards.
Must be able to interpret Engineering drawings with a good understanding of Geometric Tolerances.
Able to work to metric and imperial measurements.
Must be PC Literate (MS Word & MS Excel), Outlook / Email
Must have good interpersonal communication skills and be able to work with the minimum of supervision
The ideal Dimensional Calibration Engineer / Mechanical Calibration Technician will have:
Completed a relevant mechanical or quality engineering apprenticeship.
Previous experience as a Mechanical / Dimensional Calibration Engineer, Mechanical Inspector, QA / Calibration Technician, Toolmaker, Machinist, Bench / Mechanical Fitter etc.
Experience of calibrating a wide range of Dimensional / Mechanical / Physical / Torque or hand-held measuring equipment
Calibrating mechanical measuring instrumentation to National / UKAS standards.
Relevant qualifications in engineering discipline ideally equivalent to HNC or higher.
Knowledge of ISO 17025 and measurement uncertainties.
Previous experience of working in the calibration, aerospace, automotive, engineering or manufacturing sectors.

Safe and effective use, maintenance, calibration and repair of air tools used to build aircraft in in the aerospace industry.
You will be responsible for the preparation and provision of test specifications.
Handling technical enquiries and liaising with clients where necessary.
Receiving and registering any work as necessary.
Completing test schedules & technical reports to effect optimum efficiency of the calibration area.

Prior experience of using air / pneumatic and torque tooling.
Recent mechanical maintenance / mechanical fitting experience.
Good communication skills.

Completed a relevant mechanical engineering apprenticeship.
Relevant mechanical / maintenance qualification such as C&G / NVQ / BTEC Level 3, HNC, HND etc.
Experience of repairing / maintaining electric / cordless hand tools, service / hire equipment etc.
Recently or currently repairing / maintaining air tools such as Avdel Bottle, Cherrymax Bottle, Huck Puller / Swager, Nut Runner, Pin Gun, Pulse Gun, Torque Screw Driver, Torque Wrench, Torque Wrench Adjustable used to build aircraft in in the aerospace or automotive industry.
Experience of hand vibration testing equipment.
