Collaborate with the plant as well as corporate functions/departments to determine where the most significant areas of improvement exist and develop projects from those opportunities. Develop, prioritize, and execute continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the organization's goals and plant objectives. Assess, monitor, maintain, and enhance business performance by analyzing current practices, developing business process improvements, implementing changes in workflows, structures, and teams to ensure continuous company performance. Plan, facilitate, and execute continuous improvement events using Lean Six Sigma tools, provide support for plant level initiatives, and participate in Kaizen events on the production floor in support of Tremco's MS168 philosophies. Provide support to the production staff to ensure that implemented lean principles are understood and implement change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of process improvements. Lead cross functional work teams focused on identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to provide sustainable improvements that meet/exceed expectations. Conduct semi-Annual Audits Read, research, interpret, and analyze data on current processes, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Leverage knowledge of tiered governance systems, Kaizen, 5S, visual management and SMED to assist sites in improving efficiencies by evaluating process and practice from various perspectives. Influence and motivate others to attend to, participate in and own local continuous improvement efforts and initiatives. Lead cross-functional improvement projects, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet predefined objectives. Develop, monitor, and communicate project plans, timelines, and budgets with key stakeholders. provide supportive project management expertise and monthly savings tracking, key performance indicators, and reporting. Teach, lead and coach cross-functional teams on Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies. Use data analytics such as statistical process control, process capability analysis, and correlation to make data driven decisions while demonstrating quantitative improvement/impact. Prepare, review, and analyze operational data, reports, and metrics to generate insights, identify trends, isolate bottlenecks, and make informed decisions. Build a culture of continuous improvement by promoting awareness and buy-in at all levels of the organization. Develop and maintain comprehensive performance dashboards and reports. Stay current with industry best practices, emerging trends, and technologies related to continuous improvement and benchmark against industry peers and incorporate best practices into the organization.
Education: & Experience:
Bachelor's degree, Process Management, or Operations, with concentration in Engineering preferred. Four to seven years related experience and/or training Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred in Chemical Manufacturing and/or batch manufacturing operations. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and effectively present information and respond to questions from diverse groups. Solve Practical problems where only limited standardization exists. Interprets instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Work with mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Preferred Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification. Must be able to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.

Adjust machine components and machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product. Tend to or operate machines that package product. Remove finished packaged items from machine and separate rejected items. Regulate machine flow, speed, or temperature. Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor. Secure finished packaged items by hand tying, sewing, gluing, stapling, or attaching fastener. Stock and sort product for packaging or filling machine operation, and replenish packaging supplies, such as wrapping paper, plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, or labels. Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material. Clean and remove damaged or otherwise inferior materials to prepare raw products for processing. The Process Engineer provides process engineering support for raw materials, compounding, production and packaging functions to improve safety, quality, service and cost efficiencies in the operations area in the Pacific, MO manufacturing plant.
Responsibilities
Support daily production needs through process troubleshooting, experimentation and support for production requirements. Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce cost, increase material utilization, improve first time right, integrate new products/processes into production and reduce variation. Implement necessary changes and update all documentation (including drawings and SOP's) accordingly. Coordinates with plant engineer to oversee capital projects necessary for the continued improvement and modernization of the plant. Ensure completion of projects within budgets. Responsible for achieving and maintaining safety goals relative to the maintenance and engineering functions. Responsible for safety devices, safe design, etc. of all equipment. Administer process hazard analyses (PHA's) for identified materials, processes, and RHP Compliance. Create and maintain P&IDs for current and future processes. Support the implementation of statistical process control by implementation of data collection systems Support the site's environmental program by assisting with reporting, compliance monitoring, and QA results in support of process engineering improvements. Troubleshooting machinery, including PLC coding adjustments.
Qualifications
Bachelors' Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial engineering. 3 years' experience in manufacturing environment. Six Sigma/lean manufacturing experience. Safety and ergonomic experience. Understanding of process control methods, flowmeters, level monitors, and other process controls within a batch manufacturing process. Mechanically inclined with a hands-on approach Previous Capital Project experience Ability to read and interpret process drawings Strong interpersonal skills: good communication skills both written and verbal. Strong Analytical & Troubleshooting skills. PC usage with MS Office Suite Strong AutoCAD skillset. (3D design utilizing Inventor Professional or Solidworks is plus) Experience with PLC's is desired, Allen Bradley experience, a plus.

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be a part of Carboline Global Continuous Improvement Team supporting the development and execution of continuous improvement projects at the Lake Charles, LA manufacturing facility. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methodologies and ability to teach and model them. Investigating shortfalls, issues, and complaints in current business processes. Collaborates with operations manager and/or plant engineering on modification of equipment and processes to reduce cost and improve efficiency and quality. Works together with R&D, engineering, and plant resources to develop and implement continuous improvement projects. Collaborates with R&D on process development - Including reviewing and approving proposed manufacturing procedures for new products. Provides technical support and consultation to the Quality Control department. Specifically, regarding recovery plans for off-specification, obsolete, and problem finished goods. Monitors the consistency of production using SQC, SPC, or other appropriate techniques. Strong communicator with top-notch presentation skills who can develop and provide training to production personnel on matters concerning formulation, materials handling, processing, and quality procedures. Follow all environmental rules and regulations to ensure hazardous materials and waste are managed in an environmentally responsible manner. Leadership role in effort to recertify and reclaim Non-Conforming material. Works in coordination with QC and R&D to isolate, test and recertify Non-Conforming material that can be repackaged and sold. Observing production processes, conducting research, and finding ways to increase efficiency and quality. Continuously challenging the status quo understood as a day-to-day activity in our operating areas. Proactive problem solving based on statistical analysis of corrective actions / assigned by Engineering Director, Plant Manufacturing Manager, QA, EHS projects. Selection and development of tools and fixtures for improvements. Perform additional duties as assigned. Commitment to the Company's Safety and Quality programs. Take an active role in hazard recognition and injury prevention by following all safety rules & regulations.
Requirements:
4 years Chemistry, Engineering degree or equivalent experience, minimum 3 years' experience in a CI role. Formal training in Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies preferred Green Belt. Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, operating and maintenance manuals and safety rules. Ability to use a computer for all company required processes, procedures, and trainings.
