Apprentice Technician
During the apprenticeship you will be working with domestic and industrial sewing machines, you will learn how to:-
Assemble Set up Test Install Repair faultsThe apprentice will also learn the following skills:
Carryout fault location on appropriate equipment using suitable maintenance diagnostic techniques Carryout maintenance activities in line with work instructions Carryout tests on the maintained equipment in accordance with test schedule/defined test procedures Follow appropriate completion activities and restore equipment to service by replacing or repairing componentsTraining:
Level 2 Engineering Operative Training will take place at Burnley College

Hobkirk Sewing Machines is a 4th generation family business that has been trading for 122 years (Est 1903). We pride ourselves on our business ethics and values and have had much success over the years training school leavers the skills required to succeed in a career with our company. Of our 15 strong team we currently have 3 members of staff who came to us from school who have been with us 12, 12 & 7 years respectively. At Hobkirks our team are valued and very important to us.
Working Hours :
Monday - Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm. 30 minute lunch.
