Childcare Apprenticeship - Sandford

Join us in providing children with the chance to slow down and reconnect with nature. As a Nursery Apprentice, you will help create an enriching environment where children can engage in outdoor learning, develop creativity, and learn about their natural surroundings. You’ll work closely with experienced staff, gaining valuable experience in early years education and development.

Main Responsibilities:

Support outdoor Forest School sessions and nature-based activities. Assist with growing fruits, vegetables, and herbs alongside the children. Help care for on-site pets (rabbits, snails, and fish) and maintain daily routines. Assist in preparing healthy snacks and supporting the children’s nutrition. Engage children in creative play using natural resources and promote problem-solving skills. Work under supervision to gain experience in child development and document progress.

Training:

It has an Ofsted Grade 2 Good rating and an overall achievement rate of 71.4%, exceeding the national average of 65.6%. Using a blended approach, learners are always at the forefront of our priorities. All learners are assigned a Personal Tutor who will be their main point of contact.

This involves regular catch-ups, check-in emails and calls. Your employer will agree to give you 20% of your working hours solely towards your study.

This will give you every chance to achieve the highest grade possible! On completion of this 18 month apprenticeship you will have gained; Early Years Practitioner - L2.



Training Outcome:

Possibility of a full time role after the completion of the apprenticeship. Progression available to Level 3 Early Years Educator if you have already acquired a Level 2.

This helps the children to build social, communication, problem solving skills, as well as life skills.
