Director of IT Security - Climate Targets

IT Security Director at SBTi Location: UK or Germany Job Purpose and Background: As the IT Security Director at SBTi, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our organization's digital assets and ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.

With the increasing reliance on digital platforms and the growing threat landscape, your expertise will be critical in mitigating risks and maintaining the trust of our stakeholders.

This position will report to the Managing Director of SBTI Services Limited based in, the UK.

It is focused on accelerating companies worldwide' efforts to halve emissions before 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions before 2050.

SBTI Services Limited is a subsidiary of the SBTI and will hold the SBTI’s certification body.

Key responsibilities include: Developing and implementing IT security policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard our organisation's digital infrastructure.Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.Leading incident response efforts and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to mitigate security breaches or incidents.Overseeing the implementation and maintenance of security solutions such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.Providing guidance and training to staff members on IT security best practices and protocols.Keeping abreast of emerging threats and trends in IT security and recommending proactive measures to address them.Collaborating with external partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies on IT security-related matters.  Essential skills and experience needed: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).At least 8 years of experience in IT security roles, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management.Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.Experience in designing and implementing security solutions for cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA.Desirable criteria: Experience working in the non-profit or NGO sector.Familiarity with regulations and compliance requirements specific to the environmental sector.Experience in managing security incidents related to activism or advocacy organizations.Proficiency in multiple languages, particularly those relevant to our organization's geographic focus areas.This is a full-time role based in the UK The salary for this role will depend on location and experience level.

This role is a fixed-term contract for 12 months with the possibility of extension.
