Then read on…We’re searching for a metal fabrication specialist to work as a Sign Maker for our client, an industry leading sign manufacturer who have recently moved to a brand new, bespoke manufacturing plant in central Ashford, Kent.This is an ideal opportunity for someone wishing to join a growing business andprogress with their own career, in an environment that is dedicated to performing quality work and providing fast, responsive and outstanding service tour customers.Working as part of the Metal Fabrication team, the Sign Maker will be fabricating sheet metalproducts based on technical drawings provided.
The position will involve cutting, foldingand bending sheet metal in accordance with design instructions and will also include dailytasks such as welding, riveting, bolting, reading & taking measurements and manoeuvringmaterial around the factory.Experience in the signage industry is an advantage, alongside good technical &mathematical skills, being able to read and understand technical drawings is also a majoradvantage.Successful applicants will require a good understanding of health & safety practices andbe comfortable using hand power tools; excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability tocarry / lift heavy sheets will be required.Additional skills such as TIG welding, MIG welding and experience using CNC machinerywill be of benefit.Main Duties of the Sign Maker • Operating a variety of handheld tools and battery power tools.• Ensure that all items produced are consistent with company goals for quality andcustomer time frames.• Monitor quality standards and processes are always met & used.• Ensure Health & Safety guidelines are met to assure a safe working environment.• Assisting in maintaining all machines and equipment within the department.• Lifting and moving large items – so good mobility and space awareness is required.Equipment used by the Sign Maker • 4m CNC Press Brake• 3m CNC Press Brake• 4m Guillotine• MIG Welding• TIG Welding• Alligator Bandsaw• Mobile Fume Extractors• Powered Hand ToolWestin Par values diversity and promotes equality.
