Technical Author or Technical Writer

Technical Author required with Engineering diagram skills ideally Photoshop, Illustrator or Creo to join a large Engineering focused Communications team.

As a Technical Writer you will create and update operating and maintenance technical information for various engineering project teams, on things like assembly and test procedures or user guides involving hardware and some software.

You will take technical information and present it in a clear and concise form that can be easily understood, experience with creating modular topic-based content is required.

Key skills:
Strong technical writing skills with at least two years technical writing experience.
Excellent technical writing and editing skills in a content management, structured authoring environment.
Some experience with graphic software such as PhotoShop, Illustrator or Creo, etc to create/edit images.
Able to carry out editorial reviewing of work produced by peers and follow corporate style guides.

You will produce high quality user documentation to agreed corporate standards and timescales, which comprises mostly of assembly and maintenance procedures.

Create, update and maintain technical reference, maintenance and operational content for use by field engineers & technicians by working closely with project engineering teams.


Write structured documentation (using Arbortext Editor) in a content management system (PTC WindChill) that maximizes comprehension and ease of use.
Produce clear, concise, and accurate content for a wide range of users including users whose first language is not English.
In the manufacturing area observe assembly of products and help document the procedures.


Produce and edit graphics such as taking photos during engineering assembly, cropping photos, adding callouts, take engineering CAD models and produce renders/exploded views, etc.
