Senior Engineer

Senior Engineer 6 months on-going contract, Inside IR35 Newcastle-under-lyme Job Purpose To lead with the support of the Facilities and Engineering Manager in all car parking matters and undertake key engineering roles within the team.Responsibilities

Knowledge of Traffic Regulation Orders and timescales and processes of Public Notices and Public Consultation processes including placing Public Notices in Newspapers/other Publications (we do so via our Planning Authority Dept)
Knowledge of Street Works and similar Highways Acts
Knowledge of how to place orders for street nameplates.
Awareness of Highways Lighting standards including for Public Parks/Public Open Spaces (and some knowledge of low carbon)
Familiarity with Playing Fields and similar Catchment/Collector Drains designs and outfalls designs.
Familiarity with drainage pipework Engineering sizing and flow capacities, manholes construction, groundworks stabilisation procedures
A no need to Manage Civil Enforcement Officers, but familiarity with Car Parking Regulations, Enforcement and Appeals processes.
A working knowledge of Electric Vehicle infrastructure and electrical works related to Electric Vehicle Charger Points (ideally both on-street and off-street in Public Car Parks etc.)
To help to manage the Civil Parking Enforcement Service.
To undertake routine CCTV system checks, maintenance and ad hoc requests and problems as may be required.
To carry out the street naming and property numbering functions for all new developments and any requests for changes.
To manage requests for all utility information.
To lead on the maintenance/management of the car parks and street/footpath lighting.
To assist with all aspects of Civil Contingencies (Emergency Planning) including any specific role as may be allocated, including emergency situations.

Qualifications

COSHH
Some knowledge of CAD [2-D], Revit/3-D draughting, Mapping
Some knowledge of Engineering Structures design
Knowledge of Engineering and similar Contract types [JCT, NEC, etc.] and other forms of specific Framework Contract types
Some working knowledge of CCTV/Surveillance
