Shifts : Mon – Friday 8am - 4:30pm
On call : 1 week in 3 with 24 hour flexibility required (£20 per day on call rota)

We are a UK leading specialist galvanising manufacturer operating in 9 locations across the UK with a workforce of over 600 people.

Due to expansion, we are looking for a Shift Manager to support the day-to-day function of the production floor.

As a Maintenance Engineer you will play a crucial role in overseeing and maintaining heavy plant equipment, including large cranes, motors, and inverter drives on a metal finishing site.

Job Responsibilities:


Perform preventive maintenance on cranes, motors, and inverter drives to minimise downtime and ensure optimal performance.
Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and carry out effective repairs to minimize production interruptions.
Collaborate with production and other departments to schedule maintenance activities in coordination with production schedules.
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment status.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.


Qualifications:


Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in an industrial setting, with a focus on cranes, motors, and inverter drives.
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

Familiarity with PLC systems and control panels.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to work night shifts on a regular basis.
