Principal Transport Planner

Our client is an independent and innovative transport planning, infrastructure engineering and flood risk consultancy, specialising in development planning work for private and public sector clients across the UK.
This consultancy is on the hunt for a Principal Transport Planner to work in their Leeds office.

The role:

Site access design / advice / optioneering
Design and site layout review
Advising Clients on Risks/Constraints
Costing schemes
Junction Modelling/ interpreting modelling & identifying opportunities for mitigation.

(ARCARDY/PICARDY/JUNCTIONS/ LINSIG)
Good understanding of the planning process
Good understanding of Transport Planning
Good Understanding of Highways Design
The ability to convey design decisions both verbally and in reports
Ability to undertake Site Access Appraisal
Ability to undertake Junction Design and Junction Improvement
Good understanding of the importance of commercial awareness
Ability to undertake Localised Junction Modelling

What you need to succeed:

Membership of a Professional Institute or be working towards membership
Understanding of National and Local highway design & policy documents
Understanding of Land ownership constraints
Understanding of Stopping Up/ Diversions
Understanding of costing schemes
Understanding of Licensing/Permits
Understanding of S278/38/104/106 Legal Agreements
Understanding Traffic Regulation Orders
Understanding of Basic Highway Law
