Job Purpose

The postholder will act as ‘competent person’ for fire and asbestos and have specialist technical knowledge relating to fire, asbestos and other H&S matters and regularly update their knowledge by keeping abreast of changes in legislation and advice from the HSE.
Audits will be undertaken methodically, and clear records kept.
Mitigating actions will be implemented quickly.
Service providers will be managed appropriately to ensure quality and VFM.
Sufficient understanding of CDM regs to alert the Compliance, Health & safety Manager of any potential or actual breach.
Attending meetings, evenings and weekends as required, with resident groups and to deal with compliance/health & safety incidents that might arise.


Qualifications

The following or equivalent: UKATA Asbestos Awareness course P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings, NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management, Scaffold Inspection qualification, Advanced managing working at height training course.
