Children's Nurse

Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Children Nurse to work a temporary agency contract in a service in Birmingham.Job Spec

The purpose of this role is to undertake allocated clinical and administrative tasks identified by caseload managers to deliver holistic nursing care to enable children with non-malignant life threatening/ life limiting conditions to be cared for in the environment of their choice.
To assist with the training and development of parents, carers and others to enable children to be cared for in a variety of settings.
To support the nursing needs where appropriate to those children with long term, non life threatening conditions with support from band 6/ band 7 nurse.

The post holder will

Assist with the training and development of parents, carers and others professionals on the caseload, to enable children to be cared for in a variety of settings
Ensure that care is delivered to agreed standards and within the policy framework of Sirona: care and health and NMC guidelines
Be responsible for maintaining and updating own clinical competence and skills
Promote a family centred approach to care and work towards empowerment of the child’s family to take a lead in their child’s care
Develop and maintain knowledge of the conditions that affect the children on the Lifetime caseload
Liaise with the band 6 nurses when there are changes in the child/family’s needs
