NB: Alternating shift (Mon-Fri): 5am to 2pm & 10am to 7pm

Due to progression, our national client seek an experienced Warehouse Shift Manager to work from their busy site in Filton, Bristol.
Overview:
To manage the Warehouse staff (about 10) and processes in line with company policies which contribute to the growth and profitability of the business.

To develop best practice with all staff to achieve the highest standards of customer service and raise the profile of the department.

To support the branding department by providing personnel and services as and when required.
Duties:

Vision and Leadership – Provide direction and leadership for the Warehouse team consistent with the objectives for the Company.

Provide support to the sales and purchasing teams, communicating a clear direction in line with company policies.

Maintain a proactive approach to the role through delegation and empowerment.
People and Values – Place health and safety and environmentally responsible behaviour at the top of the agenda and promote the highest standards of business ethics and compliance with corporate requirements.
Performance Management – ensure that the teams have a clear understanding of what is expected of them in terms of performance and delivery, which is commensurate with, and supportive of, the business objectives for the business as a whole.

Regularly review progress towards achievement of these objectives and take appropriate remedial action where shortfalls become apparent.
Organisational Structure – to continually examine the department structure in the light of market and business developments to ensure that the team are properly structured and targeted to achieve maximum effectiveness.
Drive the standards of service performance, conduct and behaviour which are designed to achieve long term growth.

Together with the management team, identify best practice to achieve the growth and development for the business.
Maintain an overview of business development opportunities through strong communication with the management teams.

Ensure that the Warehouse staff are sufficiently proactive and customer service focused to develop a broad customer offer.
Set direction for warehouse activities within the business, ensuring the implementation of best practice techniques and that the use of resources is optimised in order to minimise cost and maximise profit.

Experience:

An experienced people manager with a proven track record of developing and maintaining new and existing systems.

Forecasting staffing levels and implementing strategic demands from the ground up to best develop growth and profitability of the warehouse team.
Successful Operations experience managing warehouse team covering all aspects of warehouse operation
Proven experience in delivering effective Health & Safety, installing and driving cultural change with Health and Safety behaviour and ensuring industry best practice
Knowledge of best practice within operations and an in depth knowledge of Excel and associated reporting software.
Successful Management experience in providing controls for improving SLA’s and KPI’s alongside internal developments.
Customer focus with a commercially aware ability to meet bottom line demands.
Able to demonstrate leadership, excellent communication and professional level interpersonal skills
Personally well Organised and able to organise a team effectively, Planning, Problem Solving and Decision Making ability
FLT license essential – ideally both Counterbalance & Reach

Package:

Starting salary of £32,000 pa – reviewed after 3 months
