Behaviour Mentor - Teaching Assistant

The Role: We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to work as a Behaviour Mentor Teaching Assistant, providing support to primary-aged students who may require additional assistance in managing their behavior and emotions.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in promoting positive behavior, fostering emotional regulation skills, and ensuring that all students have equal access to learning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with students who require additional support in managing their behavior and emotions, both individually and in small groups.
Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to promote positive behavior and social skills development.
Provide mentoring and guidance to students, helping them to build confidence, resilience, and self-esteem.
Collaborate with class teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized support plans for students.
Monitor student progress and behavior, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents/carers.
Create a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students feel respected and valued.
Support the implementation of school-wide initiatives aimed at promoting positive behavior and emotional well-being.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with children in a similar role, preferably within a primary school setting.
Strong understanding of behavior management strategies and techniques, with the ability to implement them effectively.
Empathy, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
A proactive and solution-focused approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
Relevant qualifications or willingness to undertake training in areas such as Safeguarding, Positive Behavior Support, and Mental Health First Aid.
