Construction Tutor


We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Construction Tutor to join our team, specialising in working with learners aged 14 and above with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

As a Construction Tutor, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored education and support to students who may face barriers to learning due to SEMH challenges.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality construction-related lessons, ensuring they meet the diverse needs of learners with SEMH requirements.
Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate varying learning styles and abilities within the class.
Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters engagement, confidence, and positive behavior.
Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and external agencies to provide holistic support to learners, addressing their social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Monitor student progress closely, identifying areas for development and implementing appropriate interventions to support their learning journey.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievements, and behavior, adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and stay updated on relevant educational trends and policies.

Requirements:

In-depth knowledge of construction trades and industry practices, with the ability to impart this knowledge effectively to learners.
Experience working with young people with SEMH challenges, demonstrating empathy, patience, and strong behavior management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of learners.
Flexibility and resilience to adapt to the changing needs of students and respond effectively to challenging behaviors.
