Mechanical Design Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a globally recognised organisation involved within the exciting technology sector of Rugged and Industrial Computers, based at their site in Redditch, Worcestershire.

Due to continued growth my client in Redditch, Worcestershire, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to help assist on the completion of current and future projects.

Duties of the Mechanical Design Engineer job based in Redditch, Worcestershire include:


Utilising your mechanical / electromechanical engineering experience, you will use your 3D CAD design knowledge to contribute to the innovation and quality of new products within the Systems Engineering Team
Designing products for harsh environments – i.e.

shock, vibration, thermal extremes – working knowledge of Military Specifications and Standards ideal
Evaluate and interpret project technical requirements from a mechanical design perspective to develop concept designs.



Key skills and experience for the Mechanical Design Engineer job based in Redditch, Worcestershire are:


Competent at authoring complex CAD models, drawings and assemblies using SolidWorks CAD tool.

Ideally competent at analysis and an understanding of Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics.
Competent at creating drawings, all dimensioning, applying linear and geometric tolerances.
Knowledge and understanding of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals, processes, and standards.
Thorough understanding of Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly.
Understanding of the mechanical aspects of working with designs containing connector systems, harnesses, PCBs, and mechanical design for EMC.
