Youth & Child Support Worker – Ages 16–25

📍 Yeovil | 💷 £12.21 – £14.57/hour PAYE + Holiday Pay
🕐 Full-time | Part-time | Ad-hoc shifts

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We’re looking for dedicated Youth & Child Support Workers to join our dynamic team in supporting vulnerable children and young adults (ages 16–25) in a specialist further education setting.

This is a flexible role ideal for those with experience in care, youth work, education, or supported living.

🔍 About the Role:

As a Youth & Child Support Worker, you’ll support young people with a range of complex needs including Autism, learning disabilities, and emotional or behavioural challenges. You will play a vital role in helping them develop confidence, resilience, and independence while ensuring their safety and well-being.

You’ll be part of a skilled and supportive team working in a unique environment designed to meet both the care and educational needs of students with EHCPs (Education, Health & Care Plans).

👥 What You’ll Do:

Safeguard and promote student well-being at all times

Support students in daily routines, personal care, education, and social activities

Encourage participation in hobbies, after-college clubs, and community engagement

Provide key working and tailored support sessions

Support with EHCP goals, behaviour plans, and care plans

Ensure all documentation is maintained and up to date

Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and the internal care and education teams

🧠 Who You’ll Support:

Young people aged 16–25

Mixed gender

Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, moderate to severe learning disabilities, complex medical or emotional needs

All students have an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP)

👤 What We’re Looking For:

6+ months’ experience in youth support or care (essential)

Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills

Enhanced DBS (Child and Adult Workforce) on the Update Service or issued within the last 2 years

Valid photo ID and right to work documentation must be presented at first shift

Safeguarding/Child Protection training (required)

CPI/MAPA training is desirable, but not essential

A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred due to location

Willingness to complete on-site 2-hour induction prior to first shift

🕒 Shift Patterns:

Shifts available Monday to Sunday

Typical pattern: 08:00 – 20:00 + Sleep-in

Flexible full-time or part-time scheduling
