Family Support Worker - Homeless Intervention Team - WorcesterAre you a passionate, dedicated Family Support Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Family Support Worker to join a Homeless Intervention Team based in Worcester. Umbrella Rate: £19.99 per hour Duration: 25/03/2024 – 3 months initiallyHours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5.30pm, 37 hrs/weekFamily Support Worker role: Full JD Available
Direct work with young people aged 16 and 17 years old, who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless within the next 56 days.The team comprises of 2 Social Workers and 2 Specialist family Support Workers.Support the young people to remain at or return home to live with their families where it is safe for them to do so.Where young people are unable to remain living at home, explore with them and their families their accommodation options.Undertake assessments to identify areas where they may require support to develop their independent living skills to ensure a positive move on into appropriate accommodation.An understanding of young people who have experienced trauma in their childhood and have additional vulnerabilities and are often hard to reach young people.The team support young people through assessment, as Children in Need and also in some case as Looked After Children.Develop positive relationships with young people, their families and partner agencies.Keep and maintain records of work done, producing reports where necessary.Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary.
Essential Requirements
UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insuranceNVQ Level 3/4/5 in Health and Social Care working with Children and Young PeopleRecent experience working with vulnerable 16 and 17 year old young people and their familiesA knowledge and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young peopleAn understanding of the issues young people have who are faced with homelessnessUnderstanding of the legislation relating to homeless young peopleYou Must Have Right to Live & Work in the UKEnhanced Child and Adult DBS registered to the update service
