My client is a renowned company specialising in the distribution, support, and servicing of sliding head lathes and precision machinery in the United Kingdom. They are looking for another Field Service Engineer to join their fantastic team in Derby.
Field Service Engineer Role and Responsibilities:
- Attending breakdowns and rectifying problems
- Mechanical, electrical and PLC diagnostic fault finding
- Reading and interpreting engineering and electrical drawings
- Installation of our range of machines and bar feeds
- Carry out machine axis and bar feed alignments
- Machine maintenance & servicing
- Customer telephone support
- Reporting on machine condition and recommending any further service work to be undertaken
Field Service Engineer Requirements:
- Responsibilities of the role entail machine installations, addressing breakdowns, diagnosing faults, conducting repairs, and replacing parts when necessary, all under the guidance of the Service Manager.
- Essential requirements for candidates include a robust understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems, proficiency in diagnostic fault finding, and familiarity with basic pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- The ideal candidate should possess self-motivation, demonstrating the capability to work independently or collaboratively within a team setting.
Additionally, effective communication skills and proficiency in IT are crucial.
- Expertise in Fanuc control systems and multi-axis CNC lathe operations is a prerequisite.
However, prior experience with sliding head machinery isn't obligatory due to extensive product training provided.
- The role demands extensive travel throughout the UK and Eire, requiring occasional overnight stays.
