Location: Broadstairs, Kent

Salary: £13.90 - £15.40 per hour + Excellent Benefits

Full-Time, Permanent, 41-52 weeks per year

The Client:

A reputable educational firm, our client provides education for children and young people with severe intellectual disabilities within the autistic spectrum continuum.

The Role:

As a Support Worker, you will foster a nurturing culture, support youth at home, promote well-being, and practice reflection.

Responsibilities:

* Prioritise health, well-being, and safety, including intimate personal care.
* Facilitate effective communication with parents/carers through various methods.
* Encourage positive relationships with parents, carers, and professionals.
* Adapt daily routines, utilising dynamic risk assessment for a safe environment.
* Enhance the personal environment and community for young individuals.
* Collaborate on individual plans, ensuring accurate records and information security.
* Keep young individuals at the centre during keyworker sessions and meetings.
* Undertake sleeping-in duties and support the 24-hour curriculum.
* Adhere to policies, engage in continuous professional development, and commit to qualifications.


Requirements:

* Previously worked as a Support Worker or in a similar role.
* At least 2 years of experience in working with children with autism and / or severe learning difficulties.
* Ideally possess Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willing to attain within 2 years.
* GCSE English Language (Grade C or above) or commitment to achieve within the probationary period.
* Certificate in Adult Literacy Level 2 within probationary period.
* Understanding Safe Handling of Medication Level 2.
