Automation Engineer
Alongside a strong base salary of up to £49,000pa, the successful Automation Engineer will receive a minimum of 32 days holiday including bank holidays, a discretionary double figure bonus, life assurance up to 4x base salary, pension option and private medical care.
This Automation Engineer position located on the Isle of Lewis, is working with a globally leading chemical & pharmaceutical manufacturer.
Additionally, should the successful candidate need to relocate for this role a significant relocation package will be offered.
The company is a globally operating chemical manufacturer, this particular site focuses on the development and manufacture of pharmaceutical products and they are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join them on a permanent basis.
Accountabilities of the Automation Engineer:
System owner and subject expert for DCS systems at BASF site Callanish ensuring the system is maintained in compliance with relevant Safety, Security and Electrical regulations.
Responsible for managing automation & control systems elements of engineering projects in compliance with standards, process safety, and investment procedures.
Responsible for Security and provide technical & troubleshooting support to the manufacturing team, including alarm management and training
Initiating and co-ordinating Change Management, CAPA, or deviations affecting IT, LIMS and DCS systems
Proactively seek and identifying process control optimisation opportunities in production plants to improve operational excellence and efficiencies .
Support with site wide digitalisation other continuous improvement initiatives
The successful Automation Engineer will hold a HND/C qualification or equivalent in Process Control, Electrical or Chemical engineering.
This will be supported by a strong understanding of production manufacturing processes including instrumentation & control.
