BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – PACKAGING
TERRITORY: WEST MIDLANDS & SOUTH WEST
£45,000 to £55,000 + COMPANY CAR + BENEFITS + OTE c.£100k
THE COMPANY:
We’re proud to partnering with a large and established business within the packaging industry who is seeking to recruit a Business Development Manager to focus on the West Midlands and South West territory.
As Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for the Account Management (30% of the time) of their existing distributor partners and seeking out New Business (70% of the time) from new distribution partners.
The successful candidate will need to have a consultative ‘value add’ sales approach, rather than focusing on price.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly driven and experienced sales professional looking to jump into a new industry.
THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER ROLE:

As Business Development Manager, you’ll be working within the protective packaging industry focusing on winning and retaining key distribution clients across the West Midlands and South West Territory.
Identifying new business opportunities within existing accounts and with new distribution partners, undertaking a consultative value add sell, rather than focusing on price.
Attending in-person and video meeting with key decision makers
Negotiating contracts and confirming orders
Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure success project / order completion.
Attending internal team meetings to discuss pipeline opportunities and forecasts.

THE PERSON:

Experience within a Business-to-Business field-based Business Development Manager or similar roles, such as Field Sales Executive, Territory Sales Manager or Regional Sales manager
Experience within the protective packaging industry is not required, however, any experience of selling to distributors or within a parallel industry would be a significant advantage.
Strong sales and business development skills, with a focus on identifying new opportunities.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Experience in contract negotiation and project management
Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
