Non-Destructive Testing Apprentice

As an apprentice you will learn:

How to inspect materials, components and structures for defects without causing damage How to comply with industry standards and safety regulations The ability to assist qualified Inspection Engineers performing NDT such as Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Dye Penetrant Testing and Visual Inpsection

Training:

The apprenticeship programme is designed to gain skills and technical expertise to become a certified NDT Technician in three NDT Methods. This includes health and safety training, 1-to-1 mentoring, seminars, practical work experience sessions, and on-the-job training.

The candidates will keep records of their learning and experience throughout the programme and create an improvement plan. At the end of the apprenticeship, there will be an End-point assessement interview.



Training Outcome:

Upon the completion of your apprenticeship you will hold 3 industry recognised qualifications in NDT (Non-Destructive Testing). Progression will be in either advanced methods of NDT or wider Asset Integrity.



Employer Description:
UM Terminals is a bulk liquid storage provider operating several sites across the UK. Due to a successful campaign in internal Asset Integrity, we are expanding the department to include third party inspections on sites across the UK and Ireland. You will be working with a qualified team of inspectors assessing our main assets and determining repair scopes and overseeing fabrication works. UM Terminals is part of UM Group (United Molasses) which specializes in the trade and distribution of Molasses as a feed stock or industrial use. UM Terminals division focus on the storage and engineering involved in the movement of the product. Our Asset Integrity division focuses on the inspection and maintenance of the storage tanks, pipeline and pressure vessels.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 5.00pm. May include traveling to sites across the UK and overnight stays on occasion.
