Overview:
Our client, a leading company in the fire security industry, is seeking an experienced and skilled Fire Stopper to join their team. This role is based in North/East London and surrounding areas, offering an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects. Key Responsibilities:
Installation of Firestopping Materials: Apply firestopping materials such as batt, mastic, fire seals, and flexible cavity barriers to seal gaps around penetrations in walls, floors, and ceilings.Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret construction plans to identify areas that require firestopping solutions.Adhere to Fire Safety Regulations: Follow building codes and industry standards to ensure all firestopping installations are compliant with fire safety regulations.Quality Control: Ensure the correct installation of firestopping materials through thorough inspections, documentation, and adherence to quality standards.Problem-Solving: Identify challenges on-site and address unique situations that could affect the effectiveness of firestopping, ensuring that the integrity of fire barriers is maintained.Collaboration: Work closely with other construction professionals to address firestopping concerns and communicate potential issues or requirements.Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of different firestopping products, their application methods, and limitations.Physical Ability: Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and performing manual labor as required on construction sites.Attention to Detail: Ensure precise and accurate installation of firestopping materials to maintain fire barrier integrity.Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with site managers, other trades, and construction professionals, ensuring clear communication of any firestopping-related issuesCertifications:
NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection (or equivalent).CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).FIRAS (Fire Industry Association Registered Applicator Scheme) certification (preferred).Typical Work Environment:
Construction sites, working on various building projects including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.Exposure to varying weather conditions and potential hazards associated with construction environments.Benefits:
