Metal Fabrication Engineering Apprenticeship
· Plan fabrication by studying routing, materials, specifications, drawings, and welding parameters.
· Steel work to be welded. Verify settings by measuring positions and adhering to international standards.
· Maintain specifications by adhering to weld procedure specifications; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting equipment in use; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
· Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
· Monitor equipment usage, follow manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
· Document actions by completing material and weld location plans,
· Complete weld, consumable and grinding logs,
· Always wear the appropriate PPE at all times.
Training:
Working towards a Level 3 Plate Welder apprenticeship standard. An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
Days(s) release to be deterimined dependant on succesful applicants previous experience.
BTEC Level3 in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
Practical, Develpoment Competancy based units of study in 1st year at SWDT as determined by the employer
Training Outcome:
Possible full-time role within the company at the end of the apprenticeship supported by a development plan.

Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30 Friday: 07:30 – 12:00
