Operations Support Apprentice
As an Operations Support Apprentice, you will be embarking on a brilliant career path, where you can trial various different parts of the business and work with your strengths. Daily duties could include but not limited to:
Understanding plant operations and processes Checking quality of materials coming into and leaving site Working alongside health and safety and compliance Driving plant vehicles around site General housekeeping duties Small engineering and preventative tasksYou will also be completing a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Lean Manufacturing. This will involve some home study, and attending teaching sessions once a month, where you will be expected to meet your tutor at URM sites in Knottingley, Doncaster and South Kirkby (alternate).
Working in glass recycling can be a surprisingly dynamic job, physically demanding at times but ultimately a very rewarding job. It's a hands-on role that requires focus and stamina, a high level of skill, knowledge, and a strong adherence to safety protocols. It involves operating complex equipment and gaining licences in plant vehicles, as well as maintenance and preventative tasks. While the environment can be noisy and occasionally smelly, there's a real sense of contributing to a sustainable future knowing you're diverting valuable resources from landfills and helping to create a cleaner planet.

Lean Manufacturing Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
Training Outcome:
After completing this Apprenticeship, you may find yourself completing extra qualifications depending on the role you have enjoyed the most. This may be in Health and Safety or Compliance, or maybe extra plant licences such as the Loading Shovel

Working Hours :
You will be working Monday - Friday, Hours 8.00am - 4.00pm usually but may differ dependant on role requirements.
