Early Years Practitioner Apprentice

No two days are the same which makes it fun and rewarding.

Your duties will include:

You will be supporting children in their play and care routines and work alongside experienced practitioners to learn and develop your skills to support children's needs in a fun play-based approach Build trusting relationships with the children by being present and engaging them in learning experiences  Being a effective communication is so important and helps the team so we can work efficiently and support each other You will build professional relationships with parent/carers by communicating effectively with them about their child’s day You will follow policies and procedures which we will guide you through Any other duties that fit with your role or add to your knowledge, skills and behaviours

Training:

Early Years Practitioner Level 2.

You will attend on-campus activity days every 6 weeks, transport is available, you will also be visited in the workplace on a regular basis by your instructor-mentor who will complete observations and professional discussions. 

You will spend approx. 20% of your working week completing off the job training, this includes on-campus activity days but, will also be training in the workplace such as shadowing. 



Training Outcome:

Excellent potential for permanent employment.

Green Lane Nursery has a long-established reputation for homely, nurturing early years education, with practitioners caring for children as if they were their own. We are expertly managed by Andy O’Connor and Jodie Godden, with a teacher-led curriculum and many early years graduates and skilled practitioners sharing their knowledge and experience every day. We love the outdoors, and as well as playing in our lovely garden every day the weather allows, we keep a fleet of minibuses, allowing us to take children out into the local countryside to play and explore; or to visit residents of local care homes and brighten up their days with our smiles, songs and stories. Our youngest members are treated to trips to the park on warm days, or a stroll around the leafy local streets.



Working Hours :
4-days per week working 8am - 6pm on a rota, maximum 36 hours per week including off-the-job training.
