Early Years Educator Apprentice (Danesmoor House Day Nursery)

The Early Years apprentice will ensure that the nursery safeguarding procedure is followed to ensure all children are kept safe, well and secure. The apprentice will be a team player, who will learn the skills to work with children aged 0-11 years.

As an apprentice, you will play a key role in supporting the care, learning, and development of young children. Your responsibilities include, but are not restricted to:

To meet the requirements of the EYFS framework To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children placed in the setting Uphold impeccable levels of hygiene To give support to other personnel within the setting Operate a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children in conjunction with other staff Work with all staff to ensure children settle well Support all staff and engage in a good staff team To be flexible within working practices of the setting. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the setting, e.g. preparation of snack meals and cleansing of equipment To actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring organisation policies and procedures are observed at all times

Training:

You will be completing the Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard with Darlington Borough Council Learning & Skills. This programme equips you with the knowledge and practical skills to support children's development in early years settings. Training is delivered through a blend of online learning and expert-led sessions, covering key topics such as child development, safeguarding, and play-based learning.

Throughout the apprenticeship, you’ll be supported by experienced tutors with real-world early years’ experience. You’ll gain valuable hands-on experience in the class, working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage while earning a nationally recognised qualification.



Training Outcome:

Successful completion of the apprenticeship may lead to full-time employment and/ or further training.



Employer Description:

Located in a large Victorian villa in the Westend of Darlington our nursery is a warm, friendly, and welcoming environment for babies and children from six weeks old until the age of 11. We offer wrap around school provision for both the Federation of Abbey School and Federation of Mowden Schools. We have a large secure outside play space within the secluded grounds of the nursery, and a separate woodland area creating the perfect environment for children to learn, explore and play. We pride ourselves on building strong working relationships with the children and families in our setting.



Working Hours :
Shift pattern working Monday to Friday between the hours of 7.30am-6pm.
