You will learn the basic practical and theoretical principles of engineering and how to perform engineering operations. 20% of your time will be classroom-based and 80% is spent in the workshop learning hands-on skills, using machines, and applying theory.
This year, we are looking to recruit across two different apprenticeship schemes:
L3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician L3 Machining TechnicianMaintenance Technicians: This apprenticeship enables apprentices to gain experience in the maintenance and upkeep of equipment across all manufacturing sites. Some of the tasks include locating and rectifying faults on plant and equipment, inspecting and maintaining appropriate plant and equipment to meet operational requirements.
Machining Technicians: This apprenticeship enables apprentices to gain experience in and support the production of machined parts that feed into our assembly areas and for other customers. Some of the tasks include operating various CNC machinery, using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and utilising verniers, micrometres and other measuring equipment.
Training Outcome:
Following the completion of the apprenticeship, you will transfer off the scheme into a role and division within Renishaw where there will be continued improvement and development of your skills and knowledge.
For the right candidates, continued study towards higher or degree apprenticeships is supported where relevant. Achieving merits and distinctions during the Level 3 modules will be a requirement for progression.
