Clinical Negligence Paralegal Job Type: Full Time Location: Manchester Department: Clinical Negligence Basis: Initially office-based (hybrid options available) The Role A leading Clinical Negligence department in Manchester is seeking to recruit two motivated and efficient Paralegals to support qualified fee earners and assist in delivering excellent outcomes for clients. The team is highly regarded for its professional and proactive approach and includes members of the Law Society’s Specialist Panel of Clinical Negligence Solicitors and the Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA) solicitors panel. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their legal career who is keen to develop within a respected clinical negligence team. You will be responsible for a broad range of legal and administrative duties and must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, particularly when preparing correspondence, reports, and legal documents. The role also involves requesting and progressing medical and other crucial records. Key Duties & Responsibilities Assisting the conducting solicitor with case progression at all stages of clinical negligence matters Requesting, chasing, and managing medical records Sorting and paginating records and preparing chronologies and case reviews Drafting witness statements Preparing instructions to medical experts and counsel and assisting with ongoing liaison Attending conferences with Counsel and progressing matters following conference Assisting with the preparation of court documents Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on the firm’s case management system Providing a timely, efficient, and client-focused service in line with legal and internal requirements Knowledge, Skills & Experience Knowledge of clinical negligence law and practice through experience and/or legal studies Strong IT skills, particularly in Word, Excel and Outlook Excellent attention to detail and high standards of written work Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to carry out legal research Proactive, well organised, and able to work under pressure Strong team ethic and good academic background Benefits 25 days’ annual leave plus Christmas closure Pension scheme, life assurance, and income protection Private medical insurance and travel insurance options Early finish one Friday per month Supportive wellbeing initiatives and Employee Assistance Programme Clear progression routes, annual promotions process and employee referral scheme If you would like to apply for this amazing role then please send me your updated CV c.orrell@clayton-legal.co.uk or give me a call on 0161 914 3757 to discuss the opportunity further.
