General Farm Worker Apprentice
Attention to detail is paramount in looking after the high yielding herd and you will help the family with all aspects of the herds welfare. Your role will include but not be restricted to:
Learning to care for the new born calf and its Mother Rearing of the calves Rearing of the youngstock replacements Yard work relating to the dairy herd Help to establish a robotic milking routine Field work required to grow the herds forage requirementsTraining:
What qualifications will the apprentice achieve?
Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work, which is a minimum of 1-day course (Ofqual regulated) City & Guilds Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance or Lantra Safe use of Pesticides’ Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship as a General Farm WorkerLearning by Masterclass at either Moreton Morrell College or Pershore College.
Training Outcome:
Completion of this course may lead to you completing a Level 3 apprenticeship or further college course. It may also lead to general employment within the agricultural industry.
Employer Description:
Rowland & Sons are a long established family dairy farming partnership who rear all of their own replacement heifers. All beef calves are sold to a local farmer. We believe attention to detail and a “can do” attitude make a perfect team.
Working Hours :
Monday to Saturday. Hours of work to be discussed at interview.
