Complete concept design work
Manage and engineer your own projects
Develop CAD drawings of design concepts
Plan project resources and schedules
Prepare design documentation and equipment specifications
Support a wide range of engineering projects and design activities
Prepare and deliver training materials
Create checklists for product maintenance and maintainability
Compile handover documentation
Assemble/manufacture selected prototypes and your own designs
Training:
1 day per week attending the engineering degree course at Derby College.

The successful applicant has the opportunity to build upon this role and represents a long-term career for the right individual.
After this apprenticeship, there is the opportunity to build upon the intermediate/generalist capability and experience of a Junior Project & Design Engineer to achieve the proficient/professional capability and experience of a Project & Design Engineer and then ultimately to achieve the expert capability and experience of a Senior Project & Design Engineer.

Working Hours :
5 days per week (Monday to Friday) at 8 hours per day (09:00am to 05:30pm, with 30 minutes for lunch). This includes 1 day per week to attend the engineering degree course at Derby College.
